Content DescriptionReturn to Top
This collection includes correspondence among several members of the Grady family during World War II. It consists primarily of letters to and from Thomas E. Grady, Jr., a young lawyer from Washington State serving in the U.S. Army. Most of his correspondence is with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Grady, Sr., who lived in Yakima, WA, and moved to Olympia during the war. There is also a small correspondence with Lt. Col. Samuel M. Driver (Branch Office, Judge Advocate General). Some of the letters are on V-mail stationery; most of these are photographic reproductions, reduced from actual size. Grady's letters do not always disclose his location, but he wrote most of them from the United States and the Philippines.
The remainder of the correspondence is related to Thomas Grady, Jr.'s brothers, James E. Grady and Howard M. Grady, who were also serving in the Armed Forces during World War II.
