Mrs. W. D. (Katherine L.) Fenton of Portland, Oregon, was the mother of the two soldiers. Ralph Albert Fenton (1880-1958) was a surgeon with the 3rd Army; William D. Fenton, Katherine's husband, was a sergeant at Base Hospital 46, Bazoilles-sur-Meuse, France.
