Summary
The Chip Ward papers (1968-2004) consists of correspondence and other materials relating to the incineration of chemical weapons and the militaries involvement. This collection also includes drafts of Ward's books, including Canaries on the Rim: Living Downwind in the West and Hope's Horizon: Three Visions for Healing the American Land. Chip Ward was a former teacher, reporter, resort manager, and guest ranch operator. He is currently the Assistant Director for the Salt Lake City Public Library System. Ward is the co-founder of West Desert HEAL, co-founder of Families Against Incinerator Risk (FAIR), co-founder of Citizens Against Chlorine Contamination, and co-founder of HEAL Utah and is currently on the advisory board.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Chip Ward recieved his B.A. from Tufts University in 1971. We went on to recieve his M.L.I.S. form Brigham Young University in 1993. He was a former teacher, reporter, resort manager, and guest ranch operator. He is currently the Assistant Director for the Salt Lake City Public Library System. Ward is the co-founder of West Desert HEAL, co-founder of Families Against Incinerator Risk (FAIR), co-founder of Citizens Against Chlorine Contamination, and co-founder of HEAL Utah and is currently on the advisory board. Ward has also written two books entitled Canaries on the Rim: Living Downwind in the West (1999) and Hope's Horizon: Three Visions for Healing the American Land (2004).
