Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Joseph Raoul Hellmer Pinkham (1913-1971) was an ethnomusicologist, anthropologist, and sociologist from Philadelphia, United States. He earned degrees from Harvard and Yale before moving to Mexico around 1946. He is best known for his important work preserving and distributing the traditional and indigenous music of Mexico.
