Frank Crowley mining records, 1879-2000

The Frank Crowley mining records have been arranged into three series: General Mining Records , Mining Records by District, and Mining Records by County. Folders were rearranged to create these series. Original folder titles were kept, in some cases the formatting was changed to remain consistant and easier to read. If loose papers were found, a new folder was created with a new title. In a few cases, loose papers were added to existing folders when it was apparent they fit with the topic and material type.

Found with the materials was an index of mining records from the Idaho Geological Survey. This index includes a property number, property name, and district, as well as other information. Information from this index was used to create the determine what mines belonged to what districts. The index was foldered and is the first folder in the first series.

Series I contains materials pertaining to mining in general. It includes information on mining prospects in both Idaho and other states. There are also materials pertaining to mining processes in general.

Series II is divided into five sub-series, one for each mining district. These sub-series contain files relating to mines found in each mining district according to the Idaho Geological Survey Mining Prospects Index found within the collection.

Series III is divided into nine sub-series for the counties that the mining files pertain to. Each sub-series contains files containing either general information pertaining to the area or mines found within the county.
