Historical NoteReturn to Top
Since the 1950s, the Whitman College and Northwest Archives has maintained a general collection of photographs related to Walla Walla County. In the past, photographs may have been seperated from the collection in which they were donated and added to the Walla Walla photographs collection. Archivists do occassionally add single photograph donations to this collection, but photographs are no longer routinely seperated from their collection.
Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The collection consists of photographs, negatives and slides of the Walla Walla community and the communities of Walla Walla County: Burbank, Lowden, Prescott, Touchet, Waitsburg and Wallula. Photographs include portraits, landscapes, street scenes, agriculture, events and celebrations, commercial buildings, churches, schools, private residences and aerial photographs. Aerial photographs are included in the collection and show the landscape surrounding the Walla Walla and Touchet Rivers.
