Historical Note

Beat von Allmen (1941- ) was born in Switzerland. Throught his life he has been a racer on the Swiss National Ski Team (1963-1967), a racer on the Swiss Olympic team (1964), a ski coach, and a civil engineer. He started the Snowbird Race Team in 1971 and he founded Alpentech, a ski area design consulting firm. Beat von Allmen has contributed much to the designing of transportation and maps for skiers and hikers in the Wasatch, Uinta, and Stansbury mountain ranges.
