The collection consists of 1 album with 579 snapshots and photographic postcards, 49 2"x3" loose snapshots, 1 large group photograph, 1 mounted 8x10 black and white photograph, 50 glass lantern slides, and 1 photograph printed from a 5x7 nitrate negative, depicting the World War I activities of an American hospital unit. Images include the trip from Washington to California (Camp Fremont), cross country to New York and by ship to the Mesves, France, Hospital Center; views of Base Hospital 50 operations and war torn France; scenes on troop transport ship back to the United States. The 1 large photograph is a group portrait of Base Hospital 50 personnel. All photographs dated 1918-1919.
