Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Mogubai Kurdikar (1904-2001) was a Hindustani classical vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana from Kurdi, Portuguesse Goa (modern day India). She began touring throughout India in 1940 and recorded performances for All India Radio. During her career, she earned the title Gaan Tapasvini and was awarded the Padma Bhushan and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.
