Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Dwight E. Robinson, born in 1914, received his doctorate in economics from Columbia University in 1948. He joined the University of Washington School of Business Administration faculty in 1950 and taught in the general business department. He served as chairman of the department from 1965 to 1969. In addition to his teaching, Robinson was also active in his profession and was appointed to numerous business and governmental boards and commissions, including the Washington Governor's Lumber Fact Finding Panel. During his tenure at the university he produced a number of works exploring the fashion industry and such fashion trends as the shaving and trimming of beards and the wearing of animal fur. Robinson retired in 1980 and was appointed professor emeritus in 1981.
