Edwin Noel Pennebaker (1902-1995) was the Chief Geologist for Consolidated Copper Mines Corp. and consulting geologist for Minas de Matahambre, S.A., O'okied Copper Co. Ltd., Tsumeb Corp., American Metal Company, the National Lead Co. Mining Division, Anvil Mining, Miami Copper, Phelps Dodge, Bunker Hill, Sunshine Mining and many other organizations. He spent much of his professional career examining and studying mining properties in the Silver Belt, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and devising unitization formulae.

The Edwin Noel Pennebaker papers contain reports, geologic data, geological maps, topographical maps, blueprints, photographs, correspondence, research files, scouting reports, and legal data related to the several corporations Pennebaker served as a geologist. Included in the collection are geological reports and maps covering various United States areas including those in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, Utah and others as well as countries such as Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Venezuela, Southwest Africa. The papers pertain to various corporations including Minas de Matahambre, S.A., O'okied Copper Co. Ltd., Tsumed Corp., American Metal Company, the National Lead Co. Mining Division, Sunshine MIning and many others.
