The Mountain Meadows Monument Foundation was formed in 1999 for the purposes of memorializing the massacre victims of 1857, of preserving the monument created to commemorate the Mountain Meadows Masscre, of obtaining unfettered access to the monument's site, and of publicizing the importance of this unique event in America's history.

The Mountain Meadows Monument Foundation records (1850-2012) consist primarily of materials pertaining to a historical investigation of the Mountain Meadows Massacre of 1857 and of press accounts of the incident's significance and legacy. Only four folders relate to the foundation's activities.
