Biographical Note
Mr. Bailey was a homesteader in Idaho, 1909-1911. It was this experience upon which his book, "Tall Trees Surround Us," was based. He also did a tour of duty as a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps in the Philippines, 1902-1904.

Correspondence used in writing his book "Tall Trees Surround Us".
Letters are mainly to his parents, especially his mother. Some letters are from his wife and mother. The book is based on this batch of letters. There are also letters from the Philippines where he was stationed with Army Signal Corps.
