Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Mrs. Edith Rosenberg Lindenburger was born in 1893. She attended the Broadway High School, the Benjamin Girls Finishing School, the UW and Smith College. She was a member of the first confirmation class of Temple de Hirsch. Both her parents were active in the Jewish community. Emanul, her father, was active in the development of the reform congregation of Temple de Hirsch. Her mother was one of the founders of the Ladies Hebrew Benevolent Society (now called the Jewish Family Child Service) and she was also active in Temple de Hirsch. In 1920 Edith Rosenberg married Robert Lindenberger who came to the Oregon Coast from Germany and became involved in the fish business. He later established offices in Seattle and started a business with Alaska. The Lindenberger Packing Company is one of the first in the fishing industry. Mr. Lindenberger left the fishing business in 1936 and went into the insurance business.
