Typescript Copy of Robert Newell's Diary and Nez Perce War Newspaper Articles, 1939

This 108 page bound volume consists of a typescript copy of Robert Newell's diary for 1868 and typescript copies of newspaper articles. Most newspaper articles are dated 1877 and concern the ongoing Nez Perce War. One article from 1931 is a commemorative piece about Newell on the occasion of a plaque about him being donated by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). A note on the first page of the volume inidcates that the diary (and presumably articles) were copied in 1939 "from the original." No indication of the location of the original is given nor its reason for being copied.
