G. Donald Gale received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Utah and received an honorary doctorate from Southern Utah University. He has worked extensively in radio, television, and publication and has delivered numerous public speeches.

This collection contains correspondence, radio and television editorials, and materials pertaining to the National Broadcast Editorial Association (NBEA). It also contains the research materials and drafts of Gale's biography of I. J. Wagner, Bags to Riches. Included in these research materials are many personal documents of the Wagner family, particularly Rose, "Izzy," and Jeanne Wagner.

The first 5 boxes of the collection concern Gale's involvement with broadcasting and editorializing. Boxes 6-10 hold the manuscript drafts and research materials of Bags to Riches. Box 11 houses the remaining non-standard sized items.
