Historical Note

Alice Ellinor Lehnherr Norcross (1889-1972) was born on April 20 1889 in Bandon, Oregon.

Her paternal grandfather, Christian Lehnherr, founded the town of Myrtle Point, Coos County, Oregon. Her maternal grandmother, Sarah Graves Fosdick Ritchie Spires was a survivor of the Donner Party.

Alice Ellinor Lehnherr married David Eli Norcross in 1909 at her parents home in Myrtle Point, Oregon. They had one daughter, Ellinor. Norcross was a teacher and poet. She worked for McFadden Publications in the 1930s.

Norcross died in 1972 in Eugene, Oregon.
