Yussef El Guindi is an Egyptian-American playwright based in Seattle, Washington. Guindi's works focus on themes of the immigrant experience, cultural and political climates, and current issues facing Arab-Americans and Muslim Americans. Guindi was born in Egypt and immigrated to England at a young age. He was raised in England. Guindi returned to Egypt to study as an undergraduate. He received his BA in English and Comparative Literature from the American University in Cairo, Egypt in 1982. Guindi earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Playwriting from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1985. His career includes positions as playwright at Silk Road Rising, literary manager for Golden Thread Productions, and playwright-in-residence at Duke University. Guindi has received numerous awards for his work including the Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award, the 2010 Middle East America Distinguished Playwright Award, and Seattle's 2015 Stranger's Genius Award.

This collection contains manuscripts, notes on drafts and rehearsals, programs, and other material related to productions and workshops. Seven plays are represented in this collection: "Threesome," "Picking up the Scent," "The Talented Ones," "Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World," "Three Wolves and a Lamb," "Dr. Ali Goes Native," and "The Mummy and the Revolution." Materials date from 2010-2017.
