Biographical NoteReturn to Top
George Leis married Cora Gentry in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Sept. 27, 1900. Mr. Leis worked for a street contractor until 1913 when Ralph Horr, Graduate Manager for Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW) offered him the job of managing the canoe concession for the ASUW. During this time he also delivered mail and worked as a security officer for a brief time. The couple retired in 1955 and moved to Kent, Washington.
