Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The Paul B. Cannon papers (1852-1989) contains the article "Plural Marriage from 1890 to 1904" (1981), written by Paul B. Cannon, discusses polygamy in Utah from the years 1890 to 1904. This work contains copies of letters, a small segment of the Doctrine and Covenants and the Official Declaration by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the history of the LDS Church, and a list of men married in polygamy published by the Salt Lake Tribune. Articles from the Utah Historical Quarterly discussing polygamy and a history of polygamist marriages before and after the Wilford Woodruff Manifesto, a proclamation of the LDS Church that outlawed polygamy, can also be found in this writing.
Also included in the collection is correspondence; a manuscript, "Money, Gold, Goods, Services, and the National Debt"; news clippings; biographies of various family members; and a manuscript compilation, "Paul B. Cannon: History and Writings."
