Historical NoteReturn to Top
Edwin Frederick Clark was a civil engineer whose career focused on highway planning and traffic control in New York State, South Africa, and Latin America. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel Institute, Clark joined the State of New York Department of Public Works in 1926. He advanced in the department until 1965, when he was appointed Chief Traffic Engineer. From 1960 to 1969 he held a series of appointments as special advisor to governments in South Africa, Central America, Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Guyana, and Uruguay.
