Administrative Information

Arrangement

Series 1 includes Brewster's memoirs, called "True Stories" (1951-1958). These consist of loose-leaf pages with several hundred brief typescripts by Brewster, photographs, sketches, stamps, news clippings and other items glued in or inserted. On the first page of volume 1 (1951-1955), Brewster described "True Stories" as "Incidents and recollections written mainly for the children and grandchildren as they came to mind, and set down in abbreviated form to enclose with my weekly letters."

Series 2 consists of miscellaneous documents, including a small amount of correspondence, a listing of books donated by Brewster to the Washington State University Libraries, and other items.

Acquisition Information

Carl Milton Brewster donated this small collection of his papers to the Washington State University Libraries in 1960.

Processing Note

The collection was initially processed shortly after it was received, and was reprocessed by Cheryl Gunselman, Manuscripts Librarian, in 2005.
