Historical Note

According to WSU Retirees' Association's revised 1980 constitution, its primary function is to "(1) work for the improvement of the entire retirement programs of the University; (2) provide a means for continuing professional and social associations of faculty and staff in retirement; and (3) represent retired faculty and staff in relations with the University, Government Agencies and other groups."

Membership in this organization consists of retired WSU faculty & staff, as well as widows/widowers of retirees.

Administrative Information

Arrangement

The records consist of two series: "General" and "Fiscal" files. The general files contain organizational/housekeeping data, and information regarding WSU's retirement plans throughout the years. Also within these files are copies of Newsletters sent to members tri-annually, as well as information on retirement programs at other institutions. The Fiscal files consist of bank statements, invoice records, Treasurer's files, etc. The General files are arranged alphabetically, and the Fiscal files are arranged primarily by date according to sections.

Acquisition Information

Records of the University Retiree Association were donated by the association on two occasions in 1996 (MS96-48 and UA86-08).
