Content DescriptionReturn to Top
This is a single 68 page (66 numbered) non-thesis created for Jeffrey Climpson’s 1977 M.S. degree in Wildlife Biology at Washington State University. It includes a literature review and field observations, as well as tables and a bibliography.
According to the introduction, it draws from field observation of burrowing owls conducted in Grant County, WA, in summer of 1976. Though the paper focuses on feeding ecology, it also includes information on productivity, mortality, migration and dispersal, and general behavior. Breeding biology, physiology, and other aspects of general behavior and ecology are specifically excluded.

Acquisition Information
This was donated in pdf format to the Washington State University Libraries’ Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections on May 21, 2019 by Mr. Tracy L. Fleming of Vancouver, WA. No accession number was generated.
Though the MASC might not usually keep something printed from a digital copy, the decision was made to keep this due to documented interest in the field, due to the fact that only that single copy exists (not located in a library, and so not easily accessible), because this is a WSU work, and because we were able to get verification of authenticity and completeness from the original author, as well as his permission for the MASC to share it online.
