Historical Note
Edward Harriman "Rainey" Rainwater (1909-1972) was a geologist and expert in petroleum stratigraphy, particularly of the Gulf Coast. He worked as a paleontologist, stratigrapher, and research geologist for Royal Dutch/Shell from 1937-1963, and from 1963-1972, was a geological consultant to Tenneco Oil Company.
