Content Description

This collection consists of the reports on the winter deer range and population for the Chelan National Forest for 1936 and 1937, as well as the 1938 and 1939 reports for the Malheur National Forest. There is also a special report on the historical biology of Chopka Lake in Okanogan County, Washington from 1961. The collection also contains an assortment of photographic prints and negatives taken by Oliver Edwards during his time in the field.

Historical Note

Oliver Edwards graduated from Washington State College in 1935 and began working for the United States Forest Service as a Junior Biologist. He was tasked with creating reports on the winter deer range and deer populations of the Chelan National Forest, renamed the Okanogan National Forest in 1955.
