Administrative Information

Arrangement

The papers of James M. Nielson are grouped in four series: Western Farm Economics Association (W.F.E.A.), Western Farmers Association (W.F.A.), miscellaneous professional and industry papers, and bibliography.

The greatest part of the W.F.E.A. series is Nielson's correspondence with fellow economists, farmers, and other W.F.E.A. members. His participation in the American Agricultural Economics Association (A.A.E.A.) and the Western Agricultural Economics Association (W.A.E.A.) is also documented in this series.

The Western Farmers Association papers of the second series reflect Dr. Nielson's role as a director of that organization. Association business as well as agricultural materials are included.

The third series incorporates a broad spectrum of industry and professional subjects including memoranda of his participation in the 1966, 1967 and 1968 Pacific Northwest Farm Forum. The final series is comprised of his published and unpublished manuscripts.
