Content DescriptionReturn to Top
Paul Edward Nesbitt watercolor paintings (82 leaves) of Snake and Salmon River pictographs and petroglyphs photographed by James Chapman, and Nesbitt's accompanying documentation. He notes that many of the glyphs have been destroyed since they were photographed in the 1930s. Nesbitt identified the general area of the images as "Grande Ronde-State Line," on the Snake River, and some on the Salmon River. The items include 61 numbered leaves (1-61), plus 21 unnumbered leaves.
