Historical NoteReturn to Top

The czimbalom is a type of chordophone that originated from Central-Eastern Europe. The steel treble strings are arranged in groups of four and are typically played by striking two beaters against them. A trapezoidal box beneath the strings acts as a resonator. The czimbalom is closely related to the hammer dulcimer, the santoor, and the yangqin.
