Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Daryl Burton Leonard of Chehalis (1900-1983) enrolled at Washington State College in fall of 1918 and graduated in 1922 with a degree in Agriculture. He worked as an extension agent both in Idaho and at Kelso, WA, and then for Pacific Power and Light until his 1965 retirement.

Acquisition Information
Carolyn Hathaway donated this material to the Washington State University Libraries’ Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections on April 19, 2021, where it was retained as Cage 5141. Daryl B. Leonard was Carolyn’s father, and the letter had remained in her possession since he mailed it to her.

This collection was processed by Mark O’English in April 2021.

The MASC also holds a scrapbook by Daryl’s sister, Eva Mae Leonard, which overlaps Daryl’s time at WSC. It is retained as part of the Washington State University Scrapbooks, 1892-1945, collection (PC 5).
