Historical NoteReturn to Top
Lansworth (1904-1981) worked as a writer for the radio program "Whodunit?" during the 1930s before serving in World War II. The show was canceled during the war since Lansworth was the show's principal writer. Following the war, the show was revived under the name "Murder Will Out." Lansworth was also the author of the novel "Over the River Charlie" in 1956.

Collection contains materials relating to Lansworth's career as a radio writer and author, including correspondence (1943-1969); scripts, research notes, photographs, publicity materials and newspaper clippings for "Murder Will Out" and "Whodunit?" (1940-1955); photographs of Lansworth; 21 33 1/3 rpm phonograph records of "Murder Will Out"; the manuscript and galley for "Over the River Charlie" and miscellaneous materials relating to Lansworth's career in burlesque theater in San Francisco during the 1920s.
