Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Internationally recognized in diabetes research, Dr. Åke Lernmark accepted the position as the first holder of the Robert H. Williams Chair in Medicine and established the R. H. Williams Laboratory in 1980. Lernmark specialized in basic research of insulin dependent diabetes during his 30 years as director. Since 2010 Lernmark has been affiliated with the University of Lund (Sweden) where he continues investigations in the field of diabetes.
