Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Maxine Olive Ward McIntyre was a gifted teacher and mother. She began her teaching career after graduating high school at age 15 and later reared two children, Joel and Jerilyn. She was commemorated by the National Women's History Museum for being a pioneer in teaching. McIntyre lived to age 100 and died at her home in Arcadia, California in 2014.
