Historical NoteReturn to Top
Kappa Alpha Theta is an international sorority founded in 1870 at DePauw University in Indiana as the first Greek letter fraternity for women. The Whitman College Chapter, known as Delta Delta, has a long history at Whitman as students petitioned for its establishment since 1914. The sorority ultimately colonized in 1957 upon College President Chester Maxey's request, after the college's first sorority, Phi Mu, folded.
