Historical Note
The Campus School, also known as the Model School and the Training School, was an elementary school created in 1899 as part of the State Normal School at New Whatcom (now Western Washington University). Partly intended for training teachers, the school operated until 1967.
Content Description
This collection contains a wide range of memorabilia donated in 2006-2007 by Campus School alumni to Special Collections for an exhibition on the history of the Campus School. Materials in Series I include yearbooks, bulletins, photographs, programs, newspaper clippings, and other ephemera; they are organized by the name of their donor (see each box or folder for a list of items). Series II contains two boxes of Campus School publications. Series III contains examples of art and crafts produced by students, along with teaching tools used at the Campus School.
