Historical Note
William Thomas Harvey (1923–1992) was a World War II veteran, and long-serving employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. Born on July 3, 1923, to Richard and Nannie Harvey, he served as a second lieutenant and bombardier in the 8th Air Corps during the war. His brother, Richard, also served in WWII, and died July 10, 1944. Following his military service, he earned a law degree from the University of Wyoming and became a member of the Wyoming State Bar Association. Harvey spent 49 years working for the Union Pacific Railroad, serving as a fireman and engineer, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He passed away on March 22, 1992.

The Tom Harvey oral history contains an audio cassette and a transcript of Mr. Harvey's family recollections which extend from 1900 to 1990.
