Content Description
Images of the lumber industry in the Pacific Northwest from 1904-1931 by photographer John Cress including lumber companies and docks; loading lumber on to ships; log rafts, logging with oxen; felling and steam donkey engines.
Lumber companies noted: Larson Lumber Co. (Bellingham), Pacific Spruce Corporation (Lincoln Co., Ore.), Stimson Mill Co., Snoqualmie Falls Lumber Co., Dempsey Lumber Co., Willapa Lumber Co., Puget Sound Mill and Timber Co. (Port Angeles), Puget Sound Mill Co. (Port Gamble), Chas. R. McCormick Lumber Co., Brace and Hergert Mill (Seattle), Charles Nelsen Co.
