Biographical Note
William H. Latta (1864-1960) was a pioneer in Whitman County, Washington. Born in Washington County, Iowa, Latta spent most of his youth on a farm in Linn County, Kansas. In 1898, he moved to Whitman County to work as a school teacher, which he continued until 1907, when he became a postal worker in Pullman, Washington. He retired in 1931.
Content Description
This collection consists of: family and personal history (including the recollection of a wagon train journey from Iowa to Kansas); bound volume of William Homer Latta's collected information about the Latta family and personal stories; an interview transcript with W.H. Latta, and a clipping scrapbook on the Pullman Post Office.
