Historical NoteReturn to Top

In 2000, the Idaho-Washington Concert Chorale was established as a non-profit with conductors Claudia Krone and Chuck Neufeld. Prior to this date, the group was known by various names. In the 1970s, they were the Friends of Music and in the 1980s, they were the Washington Idaho Symphony Chorale. From 2000-2011 the Chorale performed a vast variety of works, including major works with a hired orchestra. For these 11 years, three conductors worked with the Chorale, Chuck Neufeld, John Weiss, and Michael Murphy. In 2011, the Chorale changed its name to the Palouse Choral Society.

The choral society is an auditioned community choir based in Moscow, Idaho. Singers hail from Pullman, Moscow, Lewiston, Clarkston, and the surrounding communities. Each year the group performs 2-4 sets of concerts, and they are best known for their performances in December and their performances at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown, Washington.
