Elizabeth, Mary and Bertha Feider were the daughters of Stanislaus and Rosa Feider, a Pomeroy, Washington farmer and his wife. The three sisters married and remained in Eastern Washington area for the rest of their lives.

The Feider sisters attended St. Scholastica's Academy in Colton, Washington. The school was founded in 1894 by the Benedictine Sisters of the Monastery of St. Gertrude. The order left the Colton area to settle permanently just outside of Cottonwood, Idaho, but a number of sisters remained at St. Scholastica's as teachers and administrators. The original building housing St. Scholastica's was destroyed by fire in 1915, then rebuilt in the same location a year later. The Benedictine Sisters continued overseeing the academy until 1931, when they were called back to the Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood. Several of the Benedictine Sisters continued to teach at the parish parochial school in Colton until 1937, when the School Sisters of Notre Dame purchased the school. In 1948, the Notre Dame Sisters opened Notre Dame Academy for high school girls in the former St. Scholastica's building. That school closed in 1960. The building and land were purchased by a private party in 1961 and demolished in 1986.
