Biographical Note

(1890-1968) Photographer, author, and mountain climber. Grace Christiansen was born in 1890 on a remote cattle ranch in Moses Coulee. Due to the ill health of her brother, the Christiansen family moved to Seattle when she was 18. She married J. Roy Gardner (1885-1955) and had 4 children. She later married Ted Wenzel. She spent part of her later years in Leavenworth, Washington.

Scrapbooks, photograph albums, diaries, poetry and other writings, photographs, negatives, and lantern slides, and associated documents, letters, and related family papers. There are 2 volumes of scrapbooks titled, "Early Riders of the Gray Sage."
