Ann Nieder and her husband Lawrence live in Seattle, Washington. Ann is an active member in Seattle's Jewish community, having served with the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, the National Council of Jewish Women (Seattle Section), Council House, and the Anti-Defamation League.

Scope and Content: Tape-recorded interview which covers 1966-1969 conducted by Meta Kaplan Buttnick and Jeanette Schrieber, August 4, 1975. Issues of the Bulletin of the Seattle Section, council of Jewish Women, Vol. 13, no. 1-8 also included.
Mrs. Nieder talks about the Council of Jewish Women and her role in it. Specifically she describes the planning for Council House, and how it is run.
Restrictions on Access: No restrictions on access to the transcript. No user listening copy exists for the analog cassette tape. Contact Special Collections for more information.

Exhibit program is from the 1981 exhibit "Remembrances: Europe 1919" which was sponsored by the Jewish Education Council. The rest of the material is from Council of Jewish Women Future Planning Committee, of which Ann Nieder was chairman.

Scope and Content: Records documenting Ann Nieder's involvement in the Seattle Jewish community, including mailings regarding Temple de Hirsch Sisterhood meetings (1961-1962); Washington State Governor's Holocaust Commemorative Program (1985); program from the Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle's annual meeting (1984); and program and seating chart of National Conference of Christians and Jews, Washington region annual citation dinner (1982). Also includes some correspondence from Lawrence Nieder pertaining to the Temple de Hirsch building and construction (1958-1959, 1967).
