Content DescriptionReturn to Top
Helen George Hutchens Photograph Albums portray camping scenes on the West coast between 1915 and 1930. Many of the photos are depictions of students on campus at Pacific College (now George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon), Helen George’s family, and family friends from the First Friends Church, Portland, Oregon. Loose, unlabeled photographs in each album may be from an earlier era since costuming varies considerably from those shown in the secured photographs. Family letters--one referring to Helen’s relative, Quaker missionary, Carrie Wood and her 40-year mission to India--and a transcript of a play about Carrie Wood’s decision to become a missionary are also included.
