Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Kenneth Hartwig was born on January 9, 1919 in Walla Walla, Washington. He attended Washington School, Jefferson School, and Walla Walla High School. After his high school graduation, Hartwig worked for Chevron Oil Company, then served in the U.S. Navy from June 16, 1944 until January 20, 1946. After World War Two, he joined his father's used car sales business, and then became the local Pioneer RV dealer until his retirement in 1983. Hartwig was also on the College Place City Council for sixteen and a half years, and the College Place mayor for five years. Hartwig died on September 17, 2003.
