Summary
The Tandy Beal papers (1958-2001) consist of materials pertinent to Beal's career in the dance industry. Tandy Beal is well known for her memorable performances in the Nutcracker, Crazy Jane, Outside Blake's Window, and her appearances with Bobby McFerrin. She is also the founder of Tandy Beal and Company which produced the successful twist on a traditional form of entertainment known as the New Pickle Circus.

Content Description

The Tandy Beal papers (1958-2001) consist of materials pertinent to Beal's career in the dance industry. Box 1 contains correspondence of a personal and business nature. Company information as well as boards and committee minutes can be found in boxes 2-3. Materials resulting from Beal's interactions with organizations such as the California Arts Council, Friends of Olympia Station, and the National Endowment of the Arts are located in boxes 4-5. Information concerning various foundations, grants, residency, tours, and performances range from boxes 12-33. Boxes 34-43 contain publicity and reviews, newsclippings, program samples, artwork, and other documents associated with Tandy Beal.
