Historical Note

Robert H. Seale served as Assistant Professor of Forestry at Farragut College and Technical Institute beginning in the fall of 1947 until 1949. While at Farragut he served as the advisor for the Rifle Club and Forestry Club.

In 1949, Seale was hired as an instructor at the University of Idaho. After leaving for Montana State University for a year he returned to the U of I as an Assistant Professor of Forestry, where he worked until his retirement in 1975. In 1964, while at the U of I, he was allowed to travel to State University of New York College of Forestry in Syracuse, where he completed a PhD in 1966. During his career, Seale also served as Director of the forestry camp at McCall, was Assistant to the Dean, and ultimately the Associate Dean of the college.

Content Description

This collection contains course materials, curriculum and accreditation materials, student lists, correspondence, maps, and a photograph relating to Farragut College and Technical Institute. Also included are materials related to the Forestry Club at Farragut and subsequent reunions.

Administrative Information

Arrangement

Original Order was mostly maintained. Items without folders were put into folders and given titles, but kept in place. A folder titled "Unsorted" was sorted into existing folders with similar materials. Materials that did not fit within existing folders were given their own and placed at the end of the folders beginning with "Faculty Appointments."
