The Walla Walla Pioneer Pageant was an event that took place in Walla Walla, Washington. The pageant was centered around "How the West Was Won," a play written by Whitman College President Stephen Penrose, and directed by Percy Jewett Burrell. The Walla Walla Pageant Association, Inc. was organized to produce the event. The play depicted the history of pioneers in the Northwest from a very pioneer-centric perspective. Planning for the pageant began in 1922 and was performed in both 1923 and 1924. The original script for the pageant was written by Stephen Penrose, and the pageant was directed by Percy Jewett Burrell.
