Biographical Note
Professor of oceanography, University of Washington (1926-1993). Lawrence Coachman received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1962 and was appointed to its faculty in the same year. He specialized in the areas of physical oceanography, water properties circulation and arctic oceanography.
