Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Jeanne Rounds Olsen (1921-2008) was the daughter of Fred G. Rounds and Ruth Wikoff Rounds. She was born in Minnesota, but shortly after she was born her family moved to Washington State. She spent much of her childhood in Pullman, where her father taught architecture at Washington State College and also served as a campus architect and Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. She earned a bachelor's degree in home economics from WSC in 1942. As a student at WSC she wrote for the campus paper, the Evergreen, and also served as its editor. After graduation, she married Harold F. "Ole" Olsen. They had three children, Eric, Ron, and Maggie.
