University of California doctoral dissertation, "Labor Unrest and the Labor Movement in the Salmon Industry of the Pacific Coast", by Lauren Casaday. It documents the contract labor system along the Columbia River as well as in Alaska and reviews labor organizations in San Francisco, Seattle, and various parts of Alaska.
